RANDOM MIRACLES #15 - TRIBUTE TO GUSGUS V1 (2019)

For this edition, I wanted to do something a bit different and dedicate the entire mixtape to one of my favorite bands, Iceland's GusGus, who specializes in a unique mixture of ambient and techno grooves.

GusGus have been around since 1995 and have released 10 albums and over 40 singles to date. They have seen many different evolutionary shifts and lineups over the years; this collection serves as a sample of some of their earliest work, back when the band consisted of 8 different members and worked primarily as an audio/visual outfit. These tracks were taken mostly from singles from their 1995 self-titled debut album, which was later picked up by 4AD Records and re-tooled/re-released as 'Polydistortion' in 1997. The final two songs are taken directly from those albums, while 'The Moon Is Up' is an unreleased track.
